Vestas to provide services for 268MW Italian wind power plants

CTBR Staff Writer Published 25 April 2012

Danish wind turbine maker Vestas has signed 15-year agreements with ERG Renew to provide services for ten wind power plants in Italy.

The wind power plants have a total capacity of 268MW, including 126 units of V90-3.0MW and V90-2.0MW wind turbines, and are located in several provinces of the Campania and Apulia regions.

The 15-year service contracts consists scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and introduce an energy-based guarantee for wind turbine operations.

The company's services will help ERG Renew to reduce the cost of energy and maximize wind power plant production.

Installed between 2002 and 2011, the wind power plants produce around 572,000MWh per year.

The electricity generated by the wind plants is enough to meet the residential electricity consumption of about 500,000 persons in Italy and save the environment from about 222,000 tons of CO2 on an annual basis.
