Siemens Gamesa receives orders totalling 326MW in India

Spanish wind turbine-maker Siemens Gamesa has received orders totalling 326MW in India from several independent power producers and industrial customers for multiple projects.

The company will supply and install of 135 units of G114-2.0MW and 28 units of G97-2.0MW wind turbines across different sites. These wind farms are expected to be commissioned in this March.

Under the contracts, the company will also be responsible for the entire infrastructure needed to operate the 26 projects, with installed capacity ranging between 2MW and 60MW

Recently, the Government of India announced the auction of 6GW in new capacity in the next 4-5 months.  

Siemens Gamesa onshore business in India CEO Ramesh Kymal said: "We are happy to announce these new deals in India. The company has been present in the Indian market since 2009 and is claimed to have installed over 5GW.

Recently, Siemens Games has received orders for two wind farms totalling 330MW in the US. Under the contract, the company will deliver a total of 97 of its G132-3.465 MW wind turbines to Apex Clean Energy, which was recently acquired by Sammons Renewable Energy, and to an undisclosed customer.
