CTBR Staff Writer Published 19 October 2015

Nordex has secured three contracts for wind farms with a combined capacity of 45MW in Turkey.

The company will install seven N117/3000 turbines close to the city of Izmir in Western Turkey for its new customer Üçgen Rüzgar Enerjisi Elektrik Üretim Anonim Sirketi.

The Delta series turbine is considered to be ideal in providing average wind speeds of 8.5 m/s.

Nordex is also supplying four Delta turbines to another new customer, Süper Enerji, for the "Çataltepe" wind farm near Istanbul.

This is considered to be Süper Enerji's first project in the wind power industry. Süper Enerji is a member of Süper Group, which is into textile, construction, tourism, geothermal and hydropower energy business.

Nordex received its third order from REA Elektrik. As per the terms of the deal, Nordex will have to supply five N117/2400 turbines for the "Zincirli" wind farm. After the "Kurtkayasi" and "Yahyali" projects, this is the third contract Nordex received for a wind farm in the province in Kayseri. The N117/2400 turbine is claimed to be ideal for the light-wind conditions prevailing at this site.

Till date, Nordex has installed almost 1,000MW in Turkey, with a further 400 currently under construction.
