The facility is currently under construction in Antelope and Boon counties of Nebraska. It is situated near the town of Elgin, about 100 miles northwest of the city of Lincoln.

The finances were raised in the form of debt and tax equity. Santander Bank acted as the sole lead arranger, administrative agent, and lender for the construction financing, while tax equity commitments were provided by an unnamed financial institution.

The Prairie Breeze II project, which will feature 41 GE 1.79MW wind turbines, is expected to go online in the fourth quarter of this year.

Lincoln Electric System will buy the energy generated from the project under a long-term power purchase agreement.

Invenergy chief financial officer and operating business group president Jim Murphy said: "With an outstanding wind resource, Nebraska has tremendous potential to become a national renewables leader, and we're pleased to reach financial close for Invenergy's second wind power generation project in the state."

Prairie Breeze II is the second phase of Invenergy's 201MW Prairie Breeze project, which started operation in 2014.

The third phase of the project will have capacity of 36MW. It is expected to begin operating next year.

Invenergy has developed over 9GW of utility-scale renewable and natural gas-fueled power generation and energy storage facilities in the US, Canada, and Europe.

It includes over 6.7GW of projects in operation, with more than 2.3GW under contract or in construction.
