The contract will require the company to provide 43 units of 3MW AW125/3000 turbines, which are designed to optimize the capture of energy on sites with medium-speed winds.

With this deal, Acciona Windpower has secured orders for 6,525MW, of which 2,412MW are for its 3 MW turbine.

Acciona Windpower CEO José Luis Blanco said: "We are very pleased to continue increasing our order portfolio in Mexico with new customers, and this confirms the growing interest of the wind power sector in our AW 3000 turbine."

Currently, the company is supplying Mexican customers with 3MW turbines totaling 252MW for two wind farms in Nuevo León, and has another order for 1.5MW machines for a 49.5MW facility in Oaxaca.

The company has also produced 556.5MW for Acciona projects and 1.5MW for a CFE installation.
